Esalen® massage is a form of body work that uses slowness and presence to bring about deep relaxation and a feeling of wholeness. As a result, self-healing powers can be released when body, mind and soul remember their own nature. With the Esalen® massage, giving and receiving are equally joyful and relaxing.
This weekend the basic Esalen® massage techniques will be taught. These include long, sensitive stroking movements combined with specific work on muscles, connective tissue and joints.
The classes include short lectures, demonstrations, practical exercise sequences and movement sessions and are aimed at both individuals and couples who are interested in learning new approaches to massage and bodywork. Both beginners and those experienced in the field of body work who want to refresh their basic knowledge or get to know the special features of the Esalen® massage are welcome. After the weekend, participants are able to give a full body massage. The course is recognized by the Esalen® Institute in California.
With the intention of expanding human potential, the Esalen® Institute began to develop, among other things, the Esalen® massage in the 1960s. The combination of Eastern and Western philosophy made the center for body work and therapy known worldwide. Fritz Perls, Ida Rolf, Moshe Feldenkrais, Stan Grof and other well-known therapists contributed their therapeutic concepts. The result is a method that is unique in its diversity.
